K WEST HOTEL & SPA
It’s kind of crazy that I get this type of opportunities now and I will forever be appreciative.
I was kindly invited for a weekend at the K West Hotel & Spa, and after how hard I have been pushing my body lately in the gym getting ready for the summer I was so ready for a chilled, relaxing weekend.
The hotel is hidden down a quiet road in Shepherds Bush, it was the former BBC Kensington House and has had the likes of Bob Marley and David Bowie stay which I thought was pretty cool! When it comes to its location, it’s literally a 5-minute walk from London’s Westfield shopping mall so it’s perfect if you want to hit the shops during your stay.
On arrival I was pleasantly surprised by the cool and clean feel to the glass building and bright reception area, everything was even better when I was told I would be in room 529, The Embassy Suite. As I placed my K west card on the door and entered my room I was greeted with amazing art on the walls and then by the sheer size of the room and bed.
I immediately made myself at home, grabbed the white robe and slippers and made my way down to the famous K West Spa facilities. I didn’t really know where to start… do I go straight to the hydrotherapy pool, sanarium or the snow paradise freeze room? the choices were endless. When I got in that spa room, laid myself down in the pool with the jets on, I was seriously in heaven.
After I had fully relaxed in the spa I headed back to my room to get ready for an evening of good food and drinks. The menu at the Studio Kitchen on the 1st floor has a very nice variety of modern dishes from a Pea and Mint Tortellini to The Pulled Pig Burgers.
I thought I would try something a little different from what I would usually have so I had a starter of brandy cured salmon and for main the corn fed chicken breast with leeks, morels and cream, and I was not disappointed with my choices! There is nothing worse than going out for dinner and thinking you’ll try something new from the menu and it’s nowhere near as good as what you’d normally have, leaving you going home hungry and sad lol. Oh but that wasn’t the case, especially when I was dipping my spoon into my naughty little chocolate brownie and ice cream desert, all served to a high standard and perfect portion size.
Keeping with the hotels cool atmosphere was the bar below the restaurant which I headed for to continue my night with more drinks and a couple of bottles of champagne because, why not!?
However, I was probably supposed to wake up in the morning feeling more relaxed than ever having been in the spa and having a lovely dinner, but yep you guessed it, I woke up feeling a little hungover haha! But not to worry because waking up in such a great bedroom, with a great bed, a fridge full of water and nowhere to be for the day, I could just relax and make the most out of my room, catching up with the football watching Sky TV on the wall mounted curved plasma TV.
After I had showered and woke myself up properly I headed for some breakfast again at the Studio Kitchen to refuel and then spent the rest of my Sunday doing exactly what I did the day before, relaxing, chilling and using my time in the incredible spa to gather my thoughts and new ideas.
In the afternoon I probably had the best afternoon tea you ever will have in your life, I mean seriously just look at the photo! Madness!
I went out and made the most of my time in London during my stay and enjoyed every second of it. I can’t wait to be back in the capital and without a doubt being back at the K West hotel!
A massive thank you to Charlotte at LuxePR for sorting out my stay and to the amazing K West Hotel staff for looking after me x
